Worth The Fight

"Worth The Fight" 14" x 17" Strathmore 500 Series, Prismacolor & Derwent Lightfast pencils. Original photo by Matthew Kerslake , Unsplash Royalty Free. Approximately 40 hours to complete. Finished 07-30-22. This lion appears to have endured a lot of hardships in his life with all the scars on his nose, it gave him a lot of character and strength. His tender eyes melted my heart. As I was drawing his face and marking his scars it started to come alive for me. It reminded me of how Christ suffered and died on the cross for us and has scars on his hands for us, yet to Him we were worth it, so that's why I called my piece, "Worth the Fight."
