Naples Pier - Before the Storm

Naples Pier - Before the Storm is a representation of the peace prior to Hurricane Ian - a Catagory 4 storm with 155 mph that devastated our Southwest Florida life on September 28, 2022. The hurricane was the deadliest to strike our area, leaving over 150 dead and $113 billion of estimated damage. Myself along with many family and friends were without power, water, homes, cars, for a very long time. I wanted to select the beauty before the storm that this area is well-known for as we continue to re-build what we have lost. This was drawn on Strathmore Bristol 500 Series using Prismacolor Pencils and a little PanPastel. The art has been treated with UV protection. This drawing took 20 hours to complete.
